![]() ![]() I believe NextPVR has the best All in One solution, afaik. Guess what I’m asking is which backend works best / and has the most user friendly front end But I did end up changing from DVBLink (and their irritating licensing model) to TVHeadEnd. ![]() For me it was simply a change of frontend. I had a slight advantage here, coming from DVBLink (TVMosaic) Server rather than physical DVB cards within the WMC box. This sounds awfully like me! I made their WMC box in 2010 and switched from it for them in December.Īh the hell on earth when the TV doesn't work correctly. Has anyone got any experience with live TV on Kodi? I was thinking of having ago with MediaPortal TV-Server. ![]() Ideally EPG data would be downloaded over the air, unless the backend can download it for free. Where I’m not really sure is live TV, it’s not something I can really mess about with for days and have their favourite programs miss recording.Īs it stands now they have a quad DVB-T2 tuner, I guess what I’m asking is which backend works best / and has the most user friendly front end, from what I gather this varies on Kodi. With AnyDVD HD running in the background their Blu-rays seem to play great in Kodi without issue, in addition the Plex plugin for Kodi is really nice! Result. I’ve always been a fan of Kodi since the XBMC days on the Xbox Classic, it seems like I could do everything my parents want from within Kodi now. Most of the HD-DVD’s I’ve since ripped so that’s not an issue. The issue they have now is TotalMedia Theatre has been discontinued and won’t newer play Blu-rays, so as it stands they have no way of playing Blu-rays. WMC integrated with Plex and TotalMedia Theatre to play both HD-DVD and Blu-ray. Obviously Windows Media Center is long since discontinued, however even today still works well as a DVR with the exception of having to run a script to manually download guide data OTA, as Microsoft no longer provide it. For some backstory I built them a HTPC running Windows Media Center around 10 years ago, which they love. I’m looking for some advice on replacing Windows Media Center with Kodi for my parents. ![]()
